Arthur started in the business as a Broadway columnist for the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, later going to work for the Toronto Star. He worked on Cecil B. DeMille¡¦s executive staff as well as serving on the executive board of the Writers Guild of America. He also worked on the Oscar winning documentary, Seeds of Destiny, in 1946.- Transportation Department

Art originally wanted to be a doctor, and was enrolled in Princeton University. He had a mid life crisis at 22 and quit to enroll as a Film and Animation Major at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He then attended CalArts' Directing - Theater, Video and Cinema program under Alexander Mackendrick. Art interned and became an assistant editor under Fima Noveck. He realized that his passion is editing. And the rest is history.
